Olde Hansa

restaurant Olde Hansa

Authentic medieval restaurant.

Leaving the Town Hall’s square on your way along the medieval Down town’s main street you will surely notice the medieval restaurant, the Olde Hansa.
The ancient style of the interior of the building creates a unique atmosphere, something unusual and romantic.
Even the illumination of the hall is not with modern lamps but "semi-antiques" using candles.
The stylised furniture, tableware, music and clothes of the waiters form the illusion of moving backwards in time. In a three story building, in the restaurant there is a chimney hall, the dining halls for the common people, lords and patricians (aristocrats).
There are a few places in town where it is possible to try such refined food prepared under ancient recipes and it is possible to eat such food at this restaurant. Roasts and sausages from venison, a wild boar or bears meat, every possible delicacy from fowl to pork, mushroom dishes get supplemented by the impressive list of noble wines and drinks. Here, you will be offered the honey home-made beer or honey beer with cinnamon, prepared to an original recipe.
A firm dish of the merchant Mr. Hek and mulled wine are worth tasting, however, all the meals and drinks are equally tasty. As the restaurant «Olde Hansa» is very popular, table reservations are recommended.
The pleasure of a medieval feast will leave the visitors with an indelible impression and pleasant memories.
